The Calamine Lotion Song (sung to the tune of Battle Hymn of the Republic)

My dad and I went hiking.

And I should have worn long pants.

I tripped on poison ivy,

And a hill of fire ants.

I swatted and I hollered,

But they ants ignored my rants

‘Cause they kept biting me.

Ca-lamine, my favorite lotion!

Pink and soothing, what a potion!

Fills my heart with sweet emotion!

Oh no! We can’t be out!

My legs are pink and dotted

But they don’t itch anymore!

The calamine is wonderful!

My dad bought out the store.

I threw away my shorts and now

I’m heading out the door…

In new, long, hiking pants!

Ca-lamine, my favorite lotion!

Pink and soothing, what a potion!

Fills my heart with sweet emotion!

My legs don’t hurt no more!
